Here’s the story of me and my fabulous hubby, Steve. We’ve been together seven million years and I still love the weirdo.

How’d we meet? — On the National Tour of Bye Bye Birdie

First date — Not really applicable since we were on the road together so I’ll do first kiss instead. LOL — Hotel lobby behind a large plastic plant.

Time together — 35 years (married 30)

Age difference? — 2 years (I’m older!)

Who was interested first? — Mutual

Who is taller? — Steve

Who said I love you first? — Honestly can’t remember. Probably Steve.

Most impatient? — Me

Most sensitive? — Steve, but he will say I am.

Most crazy? — That would be me.

Loudest? — Steve

Most stubborn? — Me

Falls asleep first? — Steve

Cooks better? — Both. We love to cook. Call that even.

Better morning person?— NOT ME. Definitely Steve.

Best driver? — Me (he will say he is LOL)

Most competitive? — Both

How’d the proposal go? — We’re married with two adult kids so I’d have to say it went well. LOL

Below are some pics of me and my Valentine. And no, I don’t really have fangs. LOL

xoxo Robyn

Hope you have a lovely Valentine’s Day!!

  1. How’d we meet? — He was a bass player in a band with my sister’s boyfriend (who was the drummer). This was in the 80s, and I was tasked with putting eyeliner on all the guys, so it was my first encounter with him (he lived in a different town). This was a year before we actually dated.

First date — It was really a first date. More like a meet-up. I was graduating from high school, and he worked at a local convenience store while in college. I asked him if he was going to the graduation party. He asked if I was going, and when I said yes, he replied, “then I’ll be there.” We sat out by the fire pit, talking all night, and around 2:00 am, he kissed me.

    Time together — 39 years, 35 married.

    Age difference? — 1 year, he’s older.

Who was interested first? — There was a lot of flirting going on for a few months. I made a lot of trips to that convenience store to buy bubble gum, but I think it was mutual.

    Who is taller? — Steve

Who said I love you first? — I did. I’m pretty sure we were having a little argument, and I blurted, “You’re an asshole, and I think I’m in love with you.”

    Most impatient? — Him

Most sensitive? — It is probably a tie, but sensitive about different things.

    Most crazy? — Me.

    Loudest? — Me.

    Most stubborn? — Him

    Falls asleep first? — Steve

Cooks better? — Me. He doesn’t cook, unless you think spam and mac-n-cheese counts as food.

Better morning person?— He gets up early but is a total grouch for the first hour. I get up later, but when I do get up, I’m a functioning human being. So, apples and oranges.

Best driver? — Me. I’m definitely safer.

    Most competitive? — Me

How’d the proposal go? — He asked, I accepted, then I got mad and broke up with him, then three months later, I asked him if he still wanted to get married, he said, yes, and that was that. Six months later we were married. LOL
