It simply wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without the turkey taking a bath in the tub at our house…
Did this happen last year? Yes.
And the year before? Umm… yes.
Are we idiots? Possibly.
What did we do to avoid this frozen debacle this year, you might ask?
Well, we put the freaking turkey in the fridge to defrost on Saturday. ONE day earlier than last year.
Did it make a difference? No. LOL
Next year we will put it in the fridge on Friday. If that does’t work, we’ll switch to ham.
Anyhoo, after a nice hour and a half long tub soak we were ready to go. My husband (pictured below) was kind enough to dunk our dinner while I swore at it. We’re an outstanding team.
The dinner was delicious! We had our family and friends with us. The food rocked. Honestly, I’m not sure how I’ll feel if the turkey doesn’t need a candle lit bath next year. It’s kind of become a tradition. LOL

I still remember the year I got the turkey all ready, put it in the oven, and three hours later, realized I hadn’t turned the oven on. We ate half the dinner at five, and then turkey and pie at 10 PM.
