Do Authors Need Other Authors? YES. Yes, they do.

There are ohhhhh so many reasons for this….

I’m going to focus on one author in particular today. She’s my ride or die, my critique partner, a brilliant writer and one of my besties.

Her name is Renee George.

I adore her.

We lovingly tear apart each other’s books with constructive and amazing critiques. I’m a better writer because of her! We love to laugh hard and hug harder. We both have husbands named Steve and are crazy cat ladies along with being certifiable dog moms.

We just fit.

We also do stupid shit.

Read on for one of our more painful adventures.

Adventures in Getting Slightly Electrocuted

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here’s what happens when you come and visit me at my house….
Me— I’m gonna change  batteries in the dogs’ invisible fence collars.
Renee— Cool. Need help?
Me— Yep. I got the little bastard batteries in the hole and I twisted them, but I’m not sure if they’re working.
Renee and I stare at the collars for a one minute and thirteen seconds.
Me— Umm… should we test them?
Renee— You mean like see if they shock us?
Me— Yes.
Renee and I silently contemplate walking out to my fence to voluntarily get shocked.
Renee— I’m in.
Me— Outstanding.
Renee— Should I bring my phone?
Me— Why would you need your phone?
Renee— To take pictures of each other getting electrocuted.
Me— Excellent plan. I never would have thought of that.
Renee— That’s what friends are for.
I would like to report that the freakin’ collars worked. It stung like a motherhumper.
No photos were taken because we were screaming and laughing too hard.
Not many friends are willing to be jolted by tiny metal rods. As noted at the top of the post, Renee is my kind of girl.
And that is why authors need authors. LOL
