Happy Birthday To Me!

Hey, hey it’s my birthday… I’m turning 64. I still can’t comprehend being a ‘senior citizen.’ I’m not sedate enough for that, am I? Anyway, so yes, today at 4:25 PM, 64 years ago, I invaded the world.

So yeah…thinking of birthday wishes. But who do you make them to? I don’t think the Tooth Fairy’s up to that challenge. I’m not about to wish on a Djinn. Nor am I rubbing one of my cats’ bellies and making a wish because…my character Bubba. Nope, not taking the chance on one of our felines having Bubba’s powers.

Maybe on the first star of the night? But we have so much cloud cover most of the year, I don’t want to leave it up to the whim of the weather. Same problem with falling stars.

Soooo…what else can you make a wish on? According to legends/traditions:

Birthday Candles: Well, we dove into the cake yesterday, and we don’t do birthday candles. We started on it yesterday because my assistant was here and she loves the cake I make for special occasions and I wanted her to have some. Plus, with my asthma and 64 candles? NO WAY could I manage to blow them all out at once.

Wishbones: Well, I used to keep spare wishbones around, but I think I’m out. And I don’t feel like eating roasted chicken just to get one. So that’s out.

Feathers: So, not keeping feathers inside due to the bird flu. We have cats, cats can get sick from infected birds and/or raw milk/meat. So I have not been gathering feathers at all.

There are some oddball things: a necklace clasp, a penny, apparently another is a 9 of diamonds you found in a book (say what? Don’t ask, I just did the research).

Okay, so we’ll have to figure out something else. Let’s see, I have dozens of crystals, spheres, etc.. I could make a wish on one of those! Maybe on one of my magickal necklaces? Or one of my rings? Yeah–that could work! So I grab one of my citrine spikes and I make my wish. Or rather, wishes, because I have several. Some of them I can help make happen. Others, I have to wait and hope. And I’m not going to tell you my wishes because if you do that, they won’t come true.

Anyway…have a lovely day, people. Cross your fingers that at least a couple of my wishes come true! I could use a nice boost.
